Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
“Guys like Rondo come along only every 20 years,” Cousy said. “So I would do everything I could to keep him.”
Rondo’s contract expires at the end of the season, and he said that he’d like to remain in Boston, but there’s no guarantee of that, especially if the Celtics post another losing season and another team offers him a maximum contract. So Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge will have to decide before the February trading deadline if he should deal him.
“Obviously,” Cousy said, “you don’t want to lose a talent like that and get nothing for him. I’m a big Ainge fan. I think Danny has done an excellent job since he’s been there. He’s a hard worker, he’s a good guy, he’s smart. If he really thinks he’s going, then sure try to salvage something.”
Celtics Legend Bob Cousy A Rajon Rondo Fan-Bill Doyle

Clik here to view.Strong words from the man known as the “Houdini of the Hardwood” during his playing days for the Boston Celtics. And if anyone is a good judge of talent, it’s certainly Cous. Over the course of his illustrious career, he shared the locker room with such legends as Bill Russell, Tom Heinsohn and Ed Macauley. And the man himself was obviously no slouch. Cousy ran a Boston show that dominated the game in the late 1950’s & early 60’s. Cous’ squads went on to win six NBA titles, and he was NBA MVP in 1957. Rondo should feel honored to hear him speak so highly of him.
Now of course not everyone feels this way about the Celtic’s captain and starting PG. Media, fans & even C’s ownership have called him “stubborn“, “selfish” and not qualified to lead. And of course his shooting has also been a target of critics. But Cousy isn’t too concerned:
With 30 teams now as opposed to eight when Cousy played, there is more competition these days, but Cousy will tell you that the league is watered down.
“Now that they’ve diluted the league with 30 teams,” Cousy said, “it’s even more evident what one great player can do. Rondo fits into that category, this especially applies to point guards.
“A point guard who is as multitalented as Rondo is, he’s an outstanding defender, he rebounds like a man much taller. He’s physically tough. He’s not a great shooter, but, hell, neither was I.”
Only time will tell what will happen with Rajon. Of the fans I’ve talked to, I’d say 75% believe it’s inevitable he’ll be traded. Some think Ainge has waited too long, and that he should have pulled the trigger earlier. I’ve been a fan of Rondo’s for the most part over the course of his career. If Boston can somehow surround him with a championship caliber roster again, I’m all for it. However if it’s time for him to move on, so be it-my only hope is that we get someone of at least equal value in return.
On Page 2, Quis Looking Into Coaching

Clik here to view.I had the opportunity to get to know Marquis Daniels a bit during his time with the Boston Celtics. Quis is one of the most down-to-earth athletes you’ll meet-quiet, humble and hard working. I was at the Garden in 2011 when he suffered a scary and life changing neck injury. He was never quite the same as a player afterwards, but it certainly didn’t take away any of his passion for the game. Now, he’s looking to get back out on the hardwood, but this time as a coach. Among the teams he’s met with so far are the Celtics and the Nets:
Visiting different organizations has been a chance for Daniels to reunite with former teammates. Rajon Rondo offered a warm welcome and the two were all smiles as they caught up. Kevin Garnett was also pleasantly surprised when Daniels spent time with the Nets.
“He was like, ‘What? Am I seeing a ghost?’” Daniels said. “It was just good to see him, just to be around him. We developed a great relationship when he was here (in Boston). He said, ‘You should go for it, man. I think you’d be good at it.’”
Daniels has the support from players around the league. Brandon Bass gave him a stamp of approval without hesitation.
“(His) experience, the players he’s played with, the coaches that have coached him — he’s perfect for it,” said Bass.
Marquis Daniels Exploring NBA Coaching Career-Jessica Camerato
When he’s not focused on basketball, you can find Quis with his kids or in the studio. He can more than hold his own on the mic and is easily one of the best rapper/athletes out there. I’d love to see Marquis on an NBA staff, and he has quite a bit of experience to share with any young player willing to listen.
